Nose Through an unmistakable dusty oak note comes black cherry tobacco, pecan and fruity red apple. Caramel and dark chocolate bitterness are balanced by coffee icing, damson jam and caraway, with a touch of demerara sugar underneath.
Palate Rich black fruit compote, a sweet earthiness and more dusty antique wood forms the core. From there comes suggestions of herbal spices and Bloody Mary mix bound up in leather. Vanilla and a bitter nuttiness from roasted chestnuts emerge with time.
Finish Slightly meaty, almost corn beef notes linger in a dry and sadly short finish.
Overall An excellent balance of flavour and an understated elegance makes this one to savour from Invergordon.
