A grand old single grain Scotch from Invergordon, distilled in October 1990 and filled into an ex-bourbon barrel to mature. 31 years later, in June 2022, the cask was opened by indie bottler The Whisky Cellar, releasing a total of 172 bottles for its Private Cellars Selection.
Juicy layers of tangy fruit, syrupy flapjack, and buttery oak.
Roasted walnuts and chai spices follow buttered popcorn and waxed lemon peels, while a touch of fresh mint tangles with the oily grain beneath.
Rich caramel and nutty maple remain, with warming, woody spice, citrus zest, and distant vanilla.
