Glorious, well-Sherried Invergordon single grain Scotch whisky, presented as part of our very own Single Cask Series. This was distilled by Invergordon in April 1991 and was left to mature in a refill Sherry hogshead for 23 long years, until it was bottled in July 2014. If you're a fan of old grain whiskies, this will be right up your street. This is a release of 82 bottles, presented at 52.8% ABV.
It's a red berry bonanza! Plump raspberries, baked strawberries and black forest gateaux with plenty of cherries. Give it a minute for oak spices and Mr. Kipling Angel Slices to shine through.
A refreshing burst of more red fruit opens the palate, soon developing notes of rosewater. This is paired with dark chocolate and a touch of red chili pepper.
Icing-sugar-dusted blackberries and a lingering flutter of mixed peels rounds this one off.
