A well-matured single grain Scotch whisky from the Invergordon Distillery, which has been independently bottled by Wemyss Malts! It was distilled in 1988 and aged in a single butt cask until 2019, when it was bottled up at cask strength with an outturn of 443 bottles. Wemyss gave it the name Greenkeeper's Glove as a hint to the flavour profile. You'll get it when you give it a taste.
Earthy vanilla pod and mature oak, with some green moss notes. Subtle touches of good rum to it.
Leads with pineapple and white grape, before another helping of earthy, leafy notes arrive. A dusting of brown sugar later on.
Dried cherry, cassia, a hint of olive oil.
Just a very unique whisky here. And it's well done. Is it your daily drinker table whisky? Definitely not. Nose: Leather, pepper, paint thinner, rum notes. Coffee beans. Caramel coming after some added water. Palate. Oily. Anis, medicinal. Earthy notes yes, rainy autumn leaves. Some licorice in the finish.
