Lowland distillery InchDairnie made this fascinating, heavily peated beauty, produced for the Finglassie line which is only made for two weeks a year in December. After an initial maturation in an ex-bourbon cask this whisky was then finished in a Sauternes cask before it was bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. for the Cooper's Choice collection, with natural colour and no chill-filtration. A release of 264 bottles.
Bonfire smoke is joined by sweet stone fruits, syrupy flapjack, and cinnamon.
More wintery spice prickles through vanilla, burnt toast, summer berries, oily, medicinal peat, and anise.
Marmalade, tar, more dense peat smoke, and cinnamon.
