Number One Drinks Company
From the cracking Ichiro’s Malt range, this is a vatting of whisky from both the Hanyu and Chichibu distilleries. The whisky was matured in Japanese oak, and vatted and bottled at Chichibu in 2010.
Tastes very young, and shallow. Little bit of fruit initially but flavour profile falls flat on its face pretty quick. Virtually no finish. Not offensive in any way, but at the property price points it commands, disappointed is the word that just keeps popping up. Would probably suit being mixed into a highball if it was $40 a bottle.
Better than the over rated Yamazaki
Average whisky. Nothing spectacular. Add a glass of macallan 18 yo 1995 bottled and turn it into a yamazaki taste.
Very good quality, realy notes of Hanyu in this...if Hanyu is a cloused destilerie in this case we have a colectable bottle...the stock of Hanyu now is in the finish...time for buy...?Karuizawa and Hany is very similar in tast....
looks like a whiskey aged 15 years. the Japanese are the best at hiding alcohol, super whiskey.
