Ian Macleod
Scotland

A Batch Strength variation of The Six Isles blended malt, produced by Ian Macleod. This expression is built upon a blend of whiskies from six Scottish islands, and has been bottled at a hefty 58% ABV. The bumped-up strength has helped to bolster the maritime notes, as well as the vibrantly fruity hints too, making for a satisfying sipper.
Bonfires on beaches, strawberries and cream, a smidge of cumin powder spiciness.
Salty peat smoke, fresh lime, green apple, banana, vanilla, digestive biscuits, black pepper.
Long and smoky.

Fabulous, very moreish, and very different to any other blended malts I've sampled, superb!!!
I have found that Six Isles is a dram that requires a great deal of perseverance. Compared with the 43% expression this is well balanced and full of flavour. Possibly my favourite blended malt overall.
First taste leaves you wondering what you put in your mouth, very sharp, not much hint of malt, not a palatable drink at all.
