Highland Park
Scotland
Single Malt
An altogether smokier-than-normal addition to the Highland Park range, Dragon Legend shows off their peaty elements cleanly and clearly, alongside sweeter hints from the sherry-cask-matured portion of the expression.
Cut grass, roasted vanilla pod and a hint of mulled wine.
A robust core of heather-y, earthy smoke arrive straight away, with peppercorn, mince pie and oily malt in tow.
Notes of dried citrus and toasted barley linger, but the finish doesn't drag on too long (get it?).
Just visited HP A and after a tasting bought the Full Volume for its character then bought HP dragon in Kirkwall Tesco for 34, nearly a third of the price. Superb complex flavours, maybe a touch too sweet in its sherry finish. Just visited 8 distilleries bought12 whiskies and this is what I am quaffing.
The most beautiful thing in the world is the first sniff exciting the sensations followed by the initial taste which instantly creates a buzz in the cheeks and a mental 'Wow' followed by an uttering of 'God that's good!'. This whisky is beautifully packaged and presented but fails to deliver anything from above. Yes, it is high quality and smooth but totally lacks any excitement... Sorry I really wanted to say something really positive so I will try another whisky from the range and hope that next time I can say I really loved it...
Smoke lovers delight. Deep and satisfying. Camp fire special.
Loved it... Smoky but fresh.
Not a big fan of HP but this expression is lovely. Big and bold and I'd happily pay £30-£35 such a rich blend. Reminds me of Cutty Sark Prohibition with a bit more fruitcake and smoke.
