Distilled at Hakushu and bottled by the renowned SMWS, this is an incredibly rare, highly collectible bottle of top-quality Japanese single malt. It was distilled in November 1981 before a 21 year maturation in a single cask. It was then bottled in June 2003. Described by the bottlers as having a flavour which pertains to "iced caramels and Madeira Cake", this is really delicious stuff.
Huge, rich notes of nutmeg and espresso beans. Ground mixed nuts and butterscotch, dried grass, bramble leaves and black pepper.
Coriander seed and aniseed, spongecake, allspice and peppermint cream. Marzipan, vanilla custard and caramel. Rich and intense.
Oaky, spiced finish with stem ginger and malt.
A robust and flavoursome whisky from a legendary Japanese distillery.
