The Liberator range specialises in giving Irish whiskey the Port cask treatment, which is a wonderful endeavour in our book! This Irish malt whiskey is a vatting of two single malts finished in incredibly fresh tawny Port casks, filled with whiskey within three weeks of the Port being disgorged. The casks are each used three times, and the results are blended together, slowly cut down to a satisfying 46% ABV over a six-week period to promote integration and mouthfeel and bottled without added colour or chill filtration for a layered, complex profile brimming with rich malt and red fruit character.
Dried berries and cherries join honeyed dates and marmalade.
Roasted nuts, biscuity malt, and sweet layers of vinous fruit, then darker jammy fruits and dried citrus.

I tasted The Liberator Malt in Tawny Port Finish recently at Whisky Live London and was really impressed so I bought a bottle from MofM. Super intense and full of fig and stone fruit notes. Did some research on the brand and its Irish backstory which was really interesting.
