A community-owned, not-for-profit distillery that supports local causes and has its own green power source? There's a reason both the folks here at Master of Malt and our friends in the capital at Berry Bros. & Rudd have kept an eye on the development of GlenWyvis distillery. This particular single malt Scotch whisky was initially aged in a hogshead cask and then finished in a quarter cask before it was bottled up for the Collective #1: The Pioneers series by Berry Bros. & Rudd, which celebrates producers just as forward-thinking as GlenWyvis. It's presented without chill-filtration or additional colour at 53.9% ABV.
Vibrant aromas of fresh fruit sing from the glass with honeyed cantaloupe melon, warm gorse, and zesty green apples.
A zap of citrus opens the palate, bringing spiced pears, soft vanilla, and more crisp apple.
Pinewood and cinnamon dance together across the finish.
This is a wonderfully invigorating Highland malt and would be perfect to enjoy in a crisp breeze on the summit of Ben Wyvis.
