The new release of The Glenturret's Triple Wood single malt Scotch whisky created using whiskies drawn from American Sherry oak, European Sherry oak and ex-bourbon casks, and is bottled at 43% ABV.
Appearance: Orange honey gold. Thin to thick legs, not particularly viscous. Nose: Cherry, pine, faint sweet smoke, some.cpmfwctionary sugar. It's actually quite a unique and distinguishable nose. Palate: Quite watery but not unpleasant. Initial sweetness and smokey tang, some sherry influence. Orange, slight bitterness but untlimayely pretty friendly. Cinnamon and cardamon spices. Once it opens up, there are more buttery creamy chocolate flavours that balance the citrus and bitterness. Finish: Medium in length. Honey, sugar, chocolate and cinnamon. There is some heat at the end too,.black pepper and green chilli. Overall: Although there's nothing 'stand out' about this whisky, it's very friendly and nothing off-putting. It's a great gateway whisky Nf one that would make great cocktails too.
Nose: Quite sweet and almost apple/ apple blossomy. A hint of coal tar maybe. Pencil shavings in background. Palate: hit of fruity sweetness followed by a not unplesant sharpness. A boiled sweet smoothness to the texture. With water: Stewed fruit, slight lemon and some honey. A jazzy and fizzy lemon taste follows.
