Glenturret
Scotland
Single Malt
A wonderfully peaty expression from the Glenturret Distillery, offering up a well-balanced flavour profile of nutty malt, oaky smoke and vibrant citrus. Ought to make for a great postprandial dram, this one.
Peaty nut cookies. Barbecue and coffee cake.
Smoky, oily cereal and sweet citrus (lemons and grapefruit).
Smoky oak with a sweet edge.
really enjoyed this whisky.. a gentle sipper. not a big nose or mouth explosion, a gentle whisky likely because of its 43%.On the palate I get walnuts, oak with gentle waft of smoke and lemon. palate is bigger than the nose. This expression is getting hard to come by now.
Tried in a tasting set and loved it, so bought a full bottle. It's remarkably well balanced between smokiness and sweetness - the peat swaddles you, rather than smothers you. If you don't think you like peated whiskies, this could change your mind.
One of the best peated whiskies I've tried. It was only available at one store in Ontario.
Excellent lightly peated whisky at about 8ppm. The age varies from 8-12 years, but understandably the distillery don't want to put 8 year old on the bottle.
For those that are put off by the word PEATED, don’t be, this is an excellent whisky with only a hint of smokiness, just gets better the more it breathes, this and the 28 y/o are 2 of my all time favourites.
