A 21 year old bottling of single malt Scotch whisky from the Glentauchers distillery in Speyside! This one was bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and features a label hints towards the days when Glentauchers experimented with silent malt - malt whisky distilled in column stills. Safe to say, this trend did not catch on and Glentauchers continued to make tasty whisky with traditional pot stills.
Batch 8 is a release of 803 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Salted caramel, chocolate digestive and red apples, then morello cherry jam, nutty barley and a helping of fresh vanilla beans and oak chips.
Marmalade on brown toast with a little melted butter and dried fruit. Burnt sugar, citrus and a little garden herb emerge, with plenty of oak spice prickling away throughout.
Bread and butter pudding and a hint of struck match.

Given the time to open up, this is fantastic whisky. Might have to look out for more Glentauchers after I finish this bottle. Of the 3 TWBC bottles I bought it was the Glentauchers, which was the distillery I knew the least about, that came through as my favourite of the lot.
This is desert in a glass - perfect after dinner dram with a buffet of all things sweet hitting you one by one. More please.
