Single Malt
Glenrothes
Scotland

Glenrothes Robur Reserve is a fabulous little travel retail exclusive, named for European of Spanish oak, Quercus Robur. This is aged with a good proportion of first fill Oloroso sherry casks…
Sherry on the nose, sweet Olosoro, pepper, berry fruits, calves leather and cedar wood.
Sweet spices, nutmeg, prune juice, a hint of uncooked pastry, a little golden syrup and Demerara rum.
Cloves, more of those prunes, a hint of dried apricot and toasted barley.

I actually got a really warm familiar bitter dark chocolate nose from this one, a nice comfort dram for sure.
Had this one waiting in the shelf for a long time. Finally opened it and shared the dram with my best friend. Spicy, warm and promising. Add a drop of water and you get the full potential. Warm, sweet and best when shared. The only thing that could be better at this price range is the tail. It could be longer.
My new favourite?
This is my new favourite, full of taste but sweet, smooth, balanced and round. With none of the bitterness I usually find in whiskey.
Sweet, minimal burn, comes alive with a drop of water. A class, easy drinking speyside
