This 2011 vintage bottling of Glenrothes has a lot going for it.
One: its big flavour. Thanks to a 53.6% ABV bottling strength and double maturation in a refill butt for over a decade initially before an eight-month finish in a first-fill oloroso sherry hogshead.
Two: it was bottled up by Thompson Bros. who are excellent bottlers of fine whisky.
Three: big bird. You see it? On the label. Big bird. Nice.
