The sixth release from Glenmorangie's exceedingly popular Private Edition series, Tùsail is made with Maris Otter barley. Maris Otter was originally bred in 1965 to meet the need for a high quality brewing malt, though it eventually fell out of style, with higher-yielding varieties taking its place.

If you don’t enjoy this you are dead. Yes, there are better whiskies, there are worse whiskies, there are more expensive and there are cheaper but if you don’t enjoy this you are dead. Drink coke and go away.
This is one of the best whiskies I've ever had and almost certainly my favorite Glenmorangie. I've had most of their range, private and special releases included. I enjoyed it more than the 25 and probably comes in as my third favorite whisky next to Lagavulin 16 and Highland Park 15. The notes were very similar to the original but so much more pronounced. The marris otter barley needs a comeback.

The nose and palate are both more pronounced than the original. I picked up more oak than in any Glenmorangie I've ever had. I'll treasure the few bottles I have but I don't know that others would want to pay as much. The Quinta Ruban might still be my favorite from Glenmorangie but this one is definitely worth a try.
The nose and palate are both considerably more pronounced than the original. As the others have said, it may not be worth the price more than once but it is definitely worth trying. I'm keeping a couple bottles for the collection for sure.
