The Duthac comes from Glenmorangie's range of expressions originally released for the Travel Retail market. This particular single malt, name after St. Duthac whose resting place sits at the centre of the Royal Burgh of Tain, has been part finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry and virgin oak casks before being bottled at 43% ABV. Plenty of rich, mellow elements throughout this one (as you'd expect from Glenmorangie), with touches of sticky PX sweetness and herb-y spiciness.

Interesting flavour. Resembles dark chochlate when drinking on the rock.
I found the neat dram to be a mite overbearing, but with a wee drap of water some really excellent flavours develop- chocolate and butterscotch over a slightly spicy finish. A real cracker of a whisky.
After trying it a few times I must say this one must be one of their finest expressions available on the travel retail. The sweetness from the PX is spot on, really lovely stuff. Not as complex or delicate as the outstanding Nectar d'or or Quinta Ruban but far better than the La Santa. If sweet scotches are your thing then this is a must. I did not find any bitter notes in this one, just pure sweet joy
Super I recommend to anyone who likes Glenmorangie - Maciej ;)
Simply delicious. Smooth as silk. First time trying it and as always I put 2 rocks in a separate glass just in case. Wound up discarding the ice. No need for it.
