Glenmorangie
Scotland
Single Malt
The Duthac comes from Glenmorangie's range of expressions originally released for the Travel Retail market. This particular single malt, name after St. Duthac whose resting place sits at the centre of the Royal Burgh of Tain, has been part finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry and virgin oak casks before being bottled at 43% ABV. Plenty of rich, mellow elements throughout this one (as you'd expect from Glenmorangie), with touches of sticky PX sweetness and herb-y spiciness.
Seriously beautiful smooth Scotch Whiskey, either straight or on the rocks. "Out performs" many much more expensive whiskeys by a long way.
A very smooth satisfying Scotch way above the norm. Cannot be beaten as a pre dinner drink.
Excellent flavor and mood elevating with no after effects. Tried first time with a friend. Add four rocks and a ml of aqua. What a pleasant smell. Will forget red wine.
Yess.. this is the most amazing (non peated) whisky I ever bought! Just finished the Tayne and had a good offer for € 54 to try this one! Far out!
Dressed up to look like Lasanta 12YO but lacking the appeal of the latter. I am a fan of several Glenmorangie products but this is not up to speed when compared to 'Core' range products. It is sad to think the marketers feel the idea of dressing up an inferior product and making it 'Duty Free Only'or similar somehow promotes the product. Don't get me wrong - it is pleasant, but (depending on departure/destination, and therefore point of purchase), Glengoyne, The Macallan & even some of the specials from Glenfiddich - or some of the New World options - offer better value.
