I love the 15 Y/O sauternes wood finish. Those extra 3 years make a huge difference since the 12 y/o has been finished for 2 years this mean the 15 y/o has been finished twice and a half as long and it makes a huge difference. The flavours are much more robust and turned up a notch or two and the lemon honey and toffee apple and caramel are so much better it’s just bursting with sweet zesty fruity honeyed layers that finish with caramel and soft notes of sweet vanilla. It’s truly amazing what those extra 3 years can do and if you try them side by side with the 12 y/o it’s plainly evident. I really wish Glenmorangie would bring this 15 y/o sauternes wood finish back because it’s way way way way way better than the 12 y/o nectar D’ Or Sauternes wood finish and people will prefer the 15 and not mind paying a little extra for a 15 y/o sauternes wood finish. Every time I see a 15 Sauternes I buy it immediately because they are very rare and highly sought after and I was lucky to get my hands in this little beauty. I really hope Master Of Malt get hold of more because I will definitely buy them with no worries at all.
