The Original is the flagship single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Highlands. Matured in a combination of first-and-second-fill American white oak casks for 10 years, the expression is a benchmark for creamy, approachable single malt. A long-running go-to dram for many whisky enthusiasts (including a few here at MoM Towers), this stuff is superb as an aepritif, though more than suitable for enjoying on a cooler evening.
Very fruity and thick. Rich notes of lemon, nectarine and apple. Spices.
Fresh and balanced, vanilla. Boiled sweets, very creamy, tiramisu, toffee.
Quite long, gentle, malty and very fruity.
Im not experienced so take my review for what it is, the nose has some citrus but also some spice that i find borderline unpleasant, the spice hits harder on the taste but i get a lot of ethanol thats quite unpleasant with a side of coffee, the after taste for me isnt anything special, it is long lasting but its not particularly pleasant, palpable, quite spicy but i cant pick up anything else, its great for some but if new to whisky like me you may not enjoy, i prefer irish, greenspot is beaut?
One of my first whisky drams, still one of my favourites
This is a lovely go-to malt for me, and excellent value when on offer. It is a little sweet for some, but if you like creamy vanilla then you'll love this. Probably not one for those who prefer the peaty, iodine tasting whiskys. I happen to like both, so clearly there are exceptions!
Really not that good, chocolaty( not sweet) flavour and a bit of cough syrup, with orange hint and bit minty. Over all more of peat and spicy side.
My first proper single malt scotch. Loved it.
