Glenmorangie
Scotland
Single Malt

Part of Glenmorangie’s Prestige Range, this 18 year old spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After this time, 30% was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks where it spent its final days, as the rest remained in bourbon casks. After 18 years has passed in total, the whisky was reunited and bottled at 43% ABV. A thick, creamy and fruity single malt Scotch whisky presented in a wonderfully elegant bottle. It certainly looks prestigious.

Creamy and tangy notes of citrus, cinnamon, stewed fruits and caramel-drizzled pannacotta.
The palate is tropical and creamy with nectarines in yoghurt, acacia honey, peaches in cream and butterscotch.
Ends on tangy oak and grilled grapefruit with plenty of dark sugar caramelised on top…

taste like a fiddich 12 year if not a blended, skip this one and grab the 18 year glenfiddich and have your mind blown
This isn't a bad whisky. I certainly had far worse but I've also had far better. A very smooth, creamy dram with an excellent nose. However the palate was unremarkable and the finish was much too light and short for an 18 year old. I won't bother to get another bottle since GlenDorach 18 has a similar price and is quite superior.
As one begins the journey of writing we're taught the evilness of adverbs. "Extremely Rare" indeed. At any rate, this is an enjoyable whisky at a good price. It has complexity, albeit thin, and what it lacks is that rounded, lingering finish. Its palate is smooth -- "very creamy", as noted by the Chaps at Master of Malt -- and this allows for sweet citrus ("tinned"?!) to arise with honey notes. The nose is excellent but, for me, the finish too light. It is akin to well formed symphony that's finished with a single tap on a triangle. Perhaps a mild exaggeration, but the finish could have been longer with greater sophistication. Nevertheless, an excellent dram and one work savouring.
Apple peel, hotdogs with sweet honey, with a hint of rum mixed with the scent of a scout hut.
Very good and tasty whisky. You can feel the smell of citrus, orange, pears, apricot, vanilla, pomerans, hazelnut and buttercola. Amazing long aftertaste after only a short slip. This is an amazing piece of high and brilliant art...
