Glenmorangie 18 Year Old Extremely Rare (2015 Release)

Part of Glenmorangie’s Prestige Range, this 18 year old spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After this time, 30% was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks where it spent its final days, as the rest remained in bourbon casks. After 18 years has passed in total, the whisky was reunited and bottled at 43% ABV. A thick, creamy and fruity single malt Scotch whisky presented in a wonderfully elegant bottle. It certainly looks prestigious.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Creamy and tangy notes of citrus, cinnamon, stewed fruits and caramel-drizzled pannacotta.

    Palate

The palate is tropical and creamy with nectarines in yoghurt, acacia honey, peaches in cream and butterscotch.

    Finish

Ends on tangy oak and grilled grapefruit with plenty of dark sugar caramelised on top…

    Very good!

I have had this whisky before - thoroughly enjoyed it and decided that I just had to have another bottle. The whole experience suits my palette admirably and I have a great friend who also appreciates good whisky and I cannot allow myself to run short. When I get near to the end of this bottle (always decanted) you will get a request to supply another one - need I say more

A must try and you will try and try again!!

Best non peated scotch I have ever tried! Received as a gift and you can't go wrong with this Glenmorangie. Such a beautiful bottle and box too! Will buy once my bottle runs out.

    I dream of it!

My first introduction to Single Malts was this 18yr back in 2006. My girlfriend got it for me for my 35th birthday and I was broken from there on. I have tried so many Single Malts since, always trying to find that smoothness and flavor and nothing would satisfy. She got it from Costco in Nebraska back then and have never seen it again until last week, mid Nov 2021... saw it behind the counter of a liquor store in Texas. It was my cousin’s 31st bday and I had a bottle of Balvenie 15yr and had paid for it when I spotted this box high up on a shelf where they kept special stuff. I immediately asked for a refund and and actually for $10 back on the difference, I took this one back to my cousin's. Drinking this was like being in my happy place, mouth full of orgasms... my cousin was so impressed, I had bought him a $150 bottle of Bourbon earlier that day but we felt like having Scotch so I picked up a second bottle. That night and the next we left both bottle half gone (only because I wanted to leave something behind as a birthday present) but my goodness... I’m in love again and I am going to be on the hunt for this bottle again and put it in my liquor cabinet. I can’t believe for the price, how amazing this bottle tastes! I’d drink it for any occasion whether it was a special night or just to have it cause I crave that taste!
