Glenmorangie 18 Year Old Extremely Rare (2015 Release)

Part of Glenmorangie’s Prestige Range, this 18 year old spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After this time, 30% was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks where it spent its final days, as the rest remained in bourbon casks. After 18 years has passed in total, the whisky was reunited and bottled at 43% ABV. A thick, creamy and fruity single malt Scotch whisky presented in a wonderfully elegant bottle. It certainly looks prestigious.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Creamy and tangy notes of citrus, cinnamon, stewed fruits and caramel-drizzled pannacotta.

    Palate

The palate is tropical and creamy with nectarines in yoghurt, acacia honey, peaches in cream and butterscotch.

    Finish

Ends on tangy oak and grilled grapefruit with plenty of dark sugar caramelised on top…

    Simply the best

At the crucifixion of my Lord and Savior, Paul carefully gathered the tears of the legion of angels standing watch into a gold goblet, thereafter known as the Holy Grail. Over almost 19 centuries, this Holy, priceless treasure was protected and preserved by the Knights Templar. Then, in the year of our Lord 1843, as the very existence of the Templar was threatened, William Matheson, under Devine inspiration, created a distillery for the sole purpose of the continued protection of that Holy relic. On Easter Sunday 1844, as Mr. Matherson was admiring the artifact, he accidentally spilled a large amount of those Holy tears, only to discover that the Grail remained as full as before. Matherson realized he had just witnessed a miracle and discovered that no matter how much of the Holy fluid spilled from the Grail, it always remained full. Matherson then knew he must find a way for the entire world to experience the Holy powers of these angelic tears and Glenmorangie Scotch Whiskey was born. Today, you too can experience the miraculous essence of those Holy tears courtesy of the Men of Tain.

    Excellent

First and foremost it is a very smooth scotch whiskey. The blend of flavors are identifiable, which makes this a drink of distinction and taste.
