Glenmorangie
Scotland
Single Malt
Part of Glenmorangie’s Prestige Range, this 18 year old spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After this time, 30% was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks where it spent its final days, as the rest remained in bourbon casks. After 18 years has passed in total, the whisky was reunited and bottled at 43% ABV. A thick, creamy and fruity single malt Scotch whisky presented in a wonderfully elegant bottle. It certainly looks prestigious.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Creamy and tangy notes of citrus, cinnamon, stewed fruits and caramel-drizzled pannacotta.
The palate is tropical and creamy with nectarines in yoghurt, acacia honey, peaches in cream and butterscotch.
Ends on tangy oak and grilled grapefruit with plenty of dark sugar caramelised on top…

I have now about 50 bottles of whisky.. thats not including those that i have finished. If i only get to drink 1 whisky for the rest of my life, this could be it. If i have to desceibe it with 1 word, it would be "beautiful". This whisky fits just about every occasion, as a special occasion bottle, daily sipper, occasions where u demand complexity, or light moments with friends that you just want a nice bottle for the evening without being the center of the conversation. It does it all for me beautifully. The only occasions that it perhaps "fell short" and hence not "perfection" (nothing is), are on those extreme cold nights or when my mood is so foul that i wish to pick a fight with something stronger. On those days, an Octomore would do just nicely.
Glenmorangie continues to impress
Nice whisky, but too expensive for the quality!
I have enjoyed many very good single malt scotch whiskies over the years, but none have compared to the Glenmorangie 18 Year Old. The smokiness is spot on, it’s smooth on the palate and the bouquet can’t be beat. All this for a reasonable price!
After purchasing a bottle, our level of spoil increased by a few increments. Borrowed from another review: “Has a smooth oak finish with the right cleansing burn that a true single malt drinker knows and relishes.” - Absolutely! This one is a winner.
