Glenlossie - Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
It's the first batch of Glenlossie single malt Scotch whisky bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The label features a diagram of the onion-shaped stills that produce Glenlossie's whisky, but once again the Boutique-y bunch have taken the name a little too literally (just like with the Coffey still). They've even included a spring-onion-lyne-arm and a garlic-bulb-condenser!
Batch 1 is a release of 118 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Rice pudding with a generous dollop of blackcurrant jam. Green bananas coated in sugary chocolate. An intriguing little hint of star anise and crushed red pepper gives it a slightly exotic feel.
Palate
Plenty of fruity esters here, with continuing notes of green banana, now with a thick glaze of caramel and honey. Yellow plum, maple syrup and honey cereals.
Finish
There's more maple syrup and baking spices to be had on the long finish.
Overall
Rather expressive and complex, this one.
