The Glenlivet
Scotland
Single Malt
An intriguing release from The Glenlivet, been finished in ex-Cognac casks for a ‘raisin-rich’ intensity, along with citrus notes and a creamy smoothness. Whisky finished in Cognac casks is not a common thing, so we're particularly interested in this expression. The name comes from Captain William Smith Grant, great-grandson of George Smith, Glenlivet’s founder.
This is one whiskey that I really like, and sometimes find it hard to get hold of unfortunately.
Pretty impressive. Not your usual Scotch but I doubt they made it to be usual. Love the sweet notes with the Cognac.
If you like whisky tinged ( tainted ?) with brandy this might be for you. I did not much like it, I will stick with the 12 & 18 thanks
What a smooth flawless whisky .very subtle flavours no burn. It's the 14 year repackaged . Better than the 12 but I love that too.
Tasting notes are actually pretty accurate, even the chocolate. Something a bit different. Decent purchase for around £30.
