The Glenlivet
Scotland
Single Malt
An intriguing release from The Glenlivet, been finished in ex-Cognac casks for a ‘raisin-rich’ intensity, along with citrus notes and a creamy smoothness. Whisky finished in Cognac casks is not a common thing, so we're particularly interested in this expression. The name comes from Captain William Smith Grant, great-grandson of George Smith, Glenlivet’s founder.
I bought 6 bottles over the months and l need to re-stock. I'm left with under 2 bottles. One of the best acquired taste among the Glenlivet range.
Enjoyed it. Will try more in the Glenlivet range
Agreed it is very smooth - luscious describes it well. But it is simply too sweet. Has sugar or honey been added? No way near the delight of a well aged The Glenlivet. Will not be buying this again.
Truly stunning. A really delicate blend of flavours and so smooth with a small measure of ice
Smooth but pretty thin. Does not go very well with water.
