    Glenkinchie 12 Year Old

The flagship expression from the Glenkinchie distillery, one of the stalwarts of the Lowlands. A fantastic introduction to the region, Glenkinchie 12 Year Old shows off the characteristic lightness and grassy elements that Lowland whiskies are known for, with nods to cooked fruit and Sauternes wine along the way. Brilliant single malt to enjoy as an aperitif on a warm evening.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A light, aromatic nose with hints of barley malt, almonds, hazelnuts and manuka honey/beeswax.

    Palate

Very fruity palate with a mix of stewed fruits, dessert wine, apple peels and honey. Becomes quite oaky late palate.

    Finish

A medium-length finish with barley and freshly mown grass…

    Great, light and sweet!

This is really a great whisky for beginners and experienced drinkers of Scotch. Obvious notes of honey and green tea. Lightly warming the palate, it’s beautifully balanced and nuanced. Not peaty at all, but much unappreciated. If you like this try Springbank 10.

    Let's be real...

As a passionate and frequent adventurer in the alcoholic arts, I gave this scotch a little try while exploring the wonders offered by the beautiful city of Edinburgh - the only wonder of this scotch is why it is still on the shelf. The vicious flavour could only be improved if a Canada Dry ginger ale company drowned the pub I was sitting in - and honestly I would have welcomed the spicy, watery grave.

    Tastes cheap

If it didn't say single malt on the side could have thought it was a blended jobbie

    Smooth, light, subtle flavours

I like this offering and can really tell the difference compared to a Balvenie or Auchentoshan. I would call this a "classic" single malt Scotch. I think we are really lucky to find this locally (Montreal, Quebec)

    Smooth, sweet with honey notes

Easy to drink. Very smooth and sweet. Initial taste of honey and grass. On the back gets little hint of smok with tobacco notes. Good for the price if you are looking for a easy drink or in a hot region where peated can be little hard to drink
