For the 6th release of Kilkerran's Work In Progress, we continue to be spoilt by the Glengyle distillery with two whiskies instead of one! As with the 5th release, one whisky was matured in Sherry casks and the other was matured in bourbon casks. This is the latter, the beautiful bourbon-cask matured expression.

One of the best light peaty scotches around. The nose is of honey, with hints of vanilla, iodine and maybe blackberries. The subtle smoke and peat hits up front and stretches into the finish. There seems to be some dark chocolate, honey and caramel that come through the tastebuds. A long smoky finish is the best part of this scotch. It's less smoke/peaty than a Laguvillin, and really an amazing experience. Congrats to Glengyle for people's choice winner. Please send this scotch abroad, as we love this in Canada.
