Here we have Chapter One of Glengoyne's The Legacy Series. This expression celebrates Cochrane Cartwright, Glengoyne’s distillery manager in 1869, who famously introduced sherry casks to Glengoyne. The liquid was matured in first-fill European oak Oloroso sherry casks as well as Glengoyne's refill casks, before being bottled at 48% ABV.
Think luxurious sticky toffee pudding, packed to the brim with dried fruit and Christmas spices, and drowned in vanilla custard.
A thick mouthfeel, where prominent sherry notes take over gentle oak with more of those dried fruits and sweet vanilla pod, with a hint of stewed pear and cinnamon spice.
A lengthy finish, dried fruits and sherried notes remain.

Thick toffee and spice. Glorious neat, but two drops of water made a completely different, velvet experience. Wow.
Phenomenal. Subtle and yet direct.
Great first edition of the Legacy. Different from the Glengoyne 18, but similar level of high quality! Definitely better than the 12 or 10.
Wow. Superb. I won’t describe it , just buy it and enjoy .. instantly goes to the top of my whisky list . Superb stuff
Opened this at the weekend, and I think I have found a new favourite. This is unlike anything i have tasted in whisky before. Its sweet, and fruity. Really good
