Description

Matured exclusively in first fill Oloroso sherry casks for 28 years, this Highland single malt from Glengoyne was bottled at 46.8% ABV with no additional colouring. It was originally released for the Travel Retail market and comes presented beautifully in a stylish, black presentation box.

Nose

Classic sherry-cask notes of marmalade, black cherry and dark chocolate lead, before fresh red berries and rum-soaked dried fruits, emerge. Furniture polish, toasted oak and a hint of marzipan icing linger underneath.

Palate

Baking spices rush to the fore of the palate but are tempered well by blackcurrant compote, seedless raisins and Demerara sugar. Spiced apricot and orange chutney and drying cacao form in the backdrop.

Finish

A sumptuous and spicy finish clings on for an age, with just a touch of espresso.

Absolute best whiskey I've ever tried

The aromas are incredibly balanced and significant. I can smell the cherry distinctly from the sherry. The taste is amazing. It goes from warm and chocolaty to a long hot finish that lasts on the tongue. I'm definitely going to get more if I am able.

A great thumbs up ro Glengoyne for this 28yr.bottle of wonder!

I thought i lost out when d Glengoyne 25 was sold out,& then,i bought and tried a bottle of this,wonderful expression,as always,fr.Glengoyne,d sherry notes are up front,w/hints of orange zest,very complex,have started to stock up lest it also would be hard to source...
