This thirty-nine year old Glenglassaugh has been finished in Muscat sweet wine barrels to lend it a rich chocolate and berry notes.
Nose: citrus, muscato sweet wine. Taste: butter toffee, oak Finish: citrus tang, dry wood. Im supposed to have been able to taste chocolate and berries in this one but did not. I love the sweet wine hints throughout though.
Just had some tonight. So smooth... :)
Hi there! From what we can gather, it's been finished for around 18 months, so on the shorter end of your scale. --The Chaps at Master of Malt
How long has the whisky been finished in the Muscat casks? There are whiskies that have been "finished" for only a few months and others that have spent more than half their life "finishing"(e.g. the Linkwood 26 year old releases from 2008).
