This is the first chance to try whisky produced by the recently re-opened Glenglassaugh Distillery.
It was closed in 1986 but resumed production in 2008. This revival bottling is the first whisky to be made at the distillery since it reopened. Matured in a mixture of first and refill bourbon casks, this was finished for 6 months in first-fill oloroso sherry butts.
Sweet caramel and toffee with notes of nutty Sherry, milk chocolate and honey. Ripe plums, red berries and oranges. Caramelised sugar and earthy, charred oak.
Sweet, rounded and creamy. Oranges, plums, cherry and walnuts, chocolate, honey-mead, Sherry and soft, spiced oak.
Medium with warming mulled-wine spices, Sherry and caramel.

A great favourite. Possibly not the most sophisticated whisky, but truly enjoyable.
Lovely whisky and very unique but a little bit soapy on the finish. Still well worth the money. The soapiness doesn't tarnish the experience.

It's great to try it. Better than many well known brands. Please continue to produce it, don't close again!
Just one word: wonderful. So creamy and rounded. One of the best whisky in the world.
