Glenfiddich
Scotland
Single Malt
Glenfiddich's Travel Retail Cask Collection range has had a rather handsome redesign! The whisky within remains spectacular - this Speyside single malt is made with casks specially selected by malt master Brian Kinsman, then married in a Solera system.
Vanilla pod, orange zest and rock cakes.
Peppery at first, before waves of warming sherry and melted butter temper the spice.
Fresh cream, brown sugar and blueberries.
Good
Does taste watered down. But my thinks kinda mild. I prefer bourbon whiskey but this is a great scotch whiskey. Great for new comers drinking scotch
Super super
Unlike some whiskies this spirit shines through. Orange, citrus, red grape high tannic content, not too noticeable but gives spicy and slightly bitter notes. Dried fruits, plum blackberry and blueberry notes. Medium finish which reflects the nose and taste. A very good whisky indeed
The new male cleric shines through. Light gold fast run legs. Nose orange slight bitter note of red grape, dried fruits, plums blue and blackberries black currant. Taste starts sweet rapidly to sour bitter but not unpleasant. Don’t detect much American white oak presence, spices from European Oak especially French Limousine? Finish is medium length and reflects taste elements. Higher ABV would fortify the flavour profile. Typical Speyside.
