Glenfiddich
Scotland
Single Malt
The Glenfiddich Perpetual Collection explores a method of perpetual maturation. Similar to a solera system, the vats of whisky are only half emptied for bottling, while the remaining aging malt is topped up with younger spirit, creating a continuous flow between the original liquid and those that follow. This single malt matured in a combo of bourbon and red wine casks, resulting in a rewardingly silky, elegant sipper.
Sweet, vinous fruits and orchard blossom are joined by notes of peach and dried mango. More floral notes of malt and honey are joined by cider apples.
Peach, apple, and honeyed pastry counter tingles of peppery spice before giving way to zesty grapefruit, vanilla sugar, and grape skins.
Soft pears and gently tannic oak, with redcurrants followed by pangs of peppery spice and roasted nuts.
Not suitable as neat or on the rocks . Taste too strong with little hangover . But very good with ginger ale, lemon juice and ice .
love the way it feels in my mouth and the taste gosh amazing
May be a defective bottle but it does not taste either smooth or mellow. It just taste of alchool. Very strong and disturbing. It makes it impossible to drink.
It’s true to its name
Delicious little number. Tried the full perceptual range and this (the cheapest bottle) was by far the most unique and best value. Surprisingly smooth for a blend/solera. On the nose it's everything you'd expect from a light bourbon cask, on the tongue is where it really shines, complex with the red wine cask influence singing in a smooth delicate way that you'd expect from an age statement whisky. Finish is a bit harsher and nothing special but to be expected for the price. Great dram for the £
