Glenfiddich
Scotland
Single Malt

This single malt from Glenfiddich was aged for 14 years before a finish in new American and Spanish oak casks. They say the American oak adds spice, vanilla, and fruit, and the Spanish oak brings elegant fruit, spice, and complexity.

Very much a nice bourbon Cask whisky. Nice well composed mix of fruit, oak and spice but I'd still take Auchentoshan 12 over this in terms of price. Definitely worth a try if you want something that's a step up from the 12 Year Old.
Very well made, packed full of oak flavor. Tried this as a dram first of all, then got the bottle, i did not regret it.
Just a powerful taste of alcohol.
Ridiculously smooth and powerful taste with a long, sweet aftertaste. Just barely a touch of smoke should make this one appeal to a wide variety of people, not the least newcomers.
Just returned from Scotland where we visited the Glenfiddich distillery - had the chance to try the 14 year old Rich Oak (among others) - perhaps it was the whole atmosphere of being right where it was produced but both my wife and I enjoyed it to the point we picked up a bottle - We still like the 15 year Solera Vat better but enjoyed the Rich Oak - I personally did not find the oak overpowering as I do in some "Oak only" finished Single Malts - the reviews I've read vary greatly which just again proves - we all have different tastes but can agree that there is nothing better than a nice dram of your favourite Scotch whatever that dram is
