Glenfarclas
Scotland
Single Malt
8 year old single malt Scotch whisky from the legendary Glenfarclas distillery, known around the world of their splendidly Sherried expressions. The Glenfarclas 8 Year Old leans more in the 'golden-barley-rich' direction, but Sherried malt continues to shine here too...
Diced-almond-topped apple pie, cinnamon, hay, honey and raisin.
Nutty and buttery, with a little more grassiness too. Grows slightly chocolatey.
Vanilla fudge dotted with raisins. Red apple slices.
$32.81 - $71.85
Expected some lightness, but once you get past the fruit it becomes quite dull. Nowhere close to being in the same league as the 105 bottling.
Head and shoulders above the rest in it's class. Would certainly buy again.
Its a young whisky and its very drinkable, sherry, slight rum on the nose. Light citrus, some pear/apple. Delicate wood. Didn't give it 5* as I felt it was a bit light all-round but it's very passable and worth a try. Great price point.
For such a young whisky it was very nice sherry influence straight away really liked this one.
