Bottled in 2012, this is the ninth release of Glenfarclas' staggering 1975 Family Cask. This cask-strength, single cask Speyside malt was aged in a refill butt before bottling. There's a big sherry influence here...
Nose: Rich nose of creamy caramel, allspice and toffee apples. Hints of cooked fruit, pear juice and oak.
Palate: Thick, sherried palate with notes of maple syrup, burnt cream and cooked apple. Baking spices develop.
Finish: Long finish with dark fruits and plum jam.
Overall: A rich, sherried style of whisky.
