A beautiful, sherried Speyside malt, Glenfarclas launched this to mark their 175th Anniversary. It was made by blending together four lovely sherry casks with a combined age of 175 years! There are just 1,296 bottles, and this special Chairman's Reserve edition comes packaged in a gift box with a branded Glencairn glass, and a handsome water jug.
Huge notes of sherry with beautifully creamy malt and fruit. It develops with butterscotch, manuka honey, and the sweetest, creamiest sherry you'll ever smell! A touch of berry fruit, and quince jelly.
Rich and umami-like, there is an intense amount of cocoa and panna cotta, with dry sherry and molasses. It becomes peppery, and there is a good dollop of caramel source too.
Very good length, ends on burnt sugar, dark chocolate and tobacco leaves.

Adding water gets your alcohol level to a point that you can differentiate the flavors of this truly remarkable whisky. Ether you agree or not that is what is recommended. Drink it as you like.. whatever rocks you boat
It's not being a "know-it-all" to state the correct fact that it is indeed recommended by the master-blenders and the distilleries they represent to add water! Drink your whisky whatever way you want it, but if you tackle a cask-strength laphroaig for example, without any water then all i can say is: Good luck getting flavours aside from the huge alcohol burn. I am not going to use the word "hate" but i will say i dislike stubborn comments like yours, with the irony of it being your pretty much the "know-it-all" in this case! Whos's gonna add water to this?? Well me, the previous commentator and about the majority of whisky lovers out there who have done their home-work and aren't overly stubborn
I hate know-it-alls. You drink scotch how you like,I drink it without it being watered down, tastes better.
If you truly knew how to drink scotch, you would know that it is recommended. Why do you think the makers would include it?
Who's gonna add water to this??
