Glenfarclas
Scotland
Single Malt
Here we have an absolute classic Speysider from a long-time family-owned distillery. This 25 year old single malt from Glenfarclas spent its days in 100% Oloroso sherry casks. It’s complex and delicately sherried, a whisky that’s sure not to disappoint. It won gold at the 2019 International Spirits Challenge and makes a great after dinner treat. Awesome.
A touch of menthol. Classic Sherry notes, less pronounced than the 15 year old perhaps, but the complexity is greater.
Incredibly clean central palate, but amazingly tangy. Really zingy top notes. Sherry and creamy barley, hints of gingerbread and nutty chocolate.
Very, very long and complex finish, oak-rich, hints of smoke, cocoa, buttery...
One of our all-time favourite Speyside malts.
I'm an islay peat freak.. but I loved this.. the last few drams were just beautiful.. Got mine for 125 three months ago so don't get the huge hike Lovely whisky though.. Try the 15 or 105 for better value
lmao i bought a bottle of this for £99 last christmas. it's ok but not fantastic for a 25yo dram, in fact i was rather disappointed with it
Like others here i was expecting to find a rich and special bottling but instead found i had spent over £100 for something a little on the thin side, just average, and no big improvement over one of the younger glenfarclas's. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, but the sherry bomb i hoped for isn't there, so sorry, my money is better spent elsewhere
very disappointed, lacks strength of smell, the texture is very creamy and nice i liked it the taste was very disappointing for a 25yo, tasted like a regular 10yo whisky
I thoroughly enjoy the smoothness and flavour. It has a very distinct taste.
