Glenfarclas 21 Year Old Whisky

(70cl, 43%)

Glenfarclas 21 Year Old

Glenfarclas 21 Bottling Note

A heavily sherried 21 year old from the Glenfarclas distillery. This offers loads of depth, a really thick dram and great value for money too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Apple, orange, less sherry than the 15yo. Peppermint again?!

Palate: Incredibly smooth. Barley-rich, just a textbook smoothness and rounded character that leaves you gasping for another sip…

Finish: Long, barley-rich, awesomely smooth, very little oak influence.

Overall: Very, very pleasant. Could teach Roger Moore a thing or two about smoothness.

Reviews for Glenfarclas 21 Year Old
Very good value
Tasted this against the twenty-five-year-old, and the fifteen against the seventeen, with some friends last year and the 21 and 15 won! The recent hike in the price of the twenty-five leaves this as a bit of a "no brainer" at present. We found this to be very well balanced, with less wood and more whisky than its older sibling!

smooth but lacks complexity
Very smooth and pleasant. A bit too light for my taste, I would expect more complexity at this age. It's very much in line with the other Glenfarclas whiskies I've tasted. It's pleasant but misses that little extra bite. At this price you can get a lot of whiskies that are more interesting.

Simply beautiful
Simply beautiful. I discovered this one whilst visiting the highlands in 2017.
A nice mellow taste of sherry with a slight smokey undertone.

Very nice, smooth and refined
I have long been an Island Malt man, in search of that perfect “stormy night on a sea weedy beach taste and aroma” so its a while since I tried a Glenfarclas. Although this is a Speyside it almost takes me there and its smooth and refined as well. I like this a lot !

1.5 yr of aeration.
Green and ferny, nettles, very green, after a year and a half with air in the bottle. Very green.

Tasty and smooth.
Very smooth. Spicy but not burning. Sherry comes through, not over powering.
