This is the ninth 1994 release from Glenfarclas' Family Cask Range.
Glenfarclas isn't just family owned it is still run by the family themselves and the Family Cask range is testament to the provenance.
The nose is fairly perfumed with a distinct floral character that is punctuated with big sherry notes.
The palate is chocolatey with notes of dried fruit and nuts (Cadbury's Fruit and Nut?) with deeper notes of lime zest and vanilla.
The finish is long and rich with notes of raisins and spice.
This is a pretty big fifteen year old whisky with plenty of sherry influence but maintains its own unique character.
