The 7th release of Glenfarclas' 1971 Family Cask. This was filled into sherry butt 140, where it rested until bottling in 2011. An outturn of 468 bottles.
Nose: Sweet and thick. Syrupy notes of sticky toffee pudding, vanilla and fresh, homemade fudge. Just delicious. Hints of apple, a little touch of ginger and orange zest.
Palate: Fresh, spicy, rich palate. Surprisingly fresh, as notes of freshly cut hay, tangy green oak and vanilla. It becomes creamy, with hints of spotted dick with hot custard.
Finish: Sweet, medium-length finish, with some sweetness. Dried fruits, green oak.
