This was released in the Autumn of 2007 as part of the extensive Glenfarclas Family Cask range. This was distilled in 1959 and matured in a sherry hogshead (cask 1838) which yielded 147 bottles.

I have been lucky to try most of the Family Cask offerings and this is by far my favourite. Obviously there is a big hit of sherry but there is also a lot of complexity and with any older whisky I have found to decant it 30 minutes before drinking really opens it up.
