GlenDronach
The 12th batch of The Glendronachs Cask Strength series the delicious Highland Scotch whisky, which has been matured in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, bottled at a punchy 58.2% ABV. A few drops of water should open this up nicely, revealing all the rich fruit and nutty sherry goodness.
Dark fruit cake, with some chocolate covered coffee beans, and woody spices.
Sweet dates and raisins, toasted walnuts, affogato, and cinnamon and ginger spice.
Bakewell tart and some black pepper.

it's complex and deserves respect at the abv % . enjoy it with ice..
I finished the bottle, but only put of stubbornness and how much it cost. Burnt rubber youth. Hot alcohol. I've had some good young whiskies, but I just didn't enjoy this one.
Being such a fan of the 12 year old, I thought this must surely be even better but no, it's not. I have been drinking it over about three weeks now and each time it is the same unremarkable drink. The alcohol dominates and there is no hint that it has ever heard a Spanish accent never mind been in sherry casks. I've tried all amounts of water, pairing it with cheese and chocolate- nothing seems to work. It's simply coloured alcohol. Still, on the bright side, I do have an unopened 12 year old.
