Description

Released as part of GlenDronach's 16th batch of single cask bottlings, this 12 year old single malt was aged in a Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon from December 2005 to 2017, and bottled with an outturn of 698 bottles.

Nose

Enticing notes of baked nectarine and dried fig emerge with smooth chocolate hazelnut and maple syrup. Cedarwood and oven-baked gingerbread simmer in the background with winter spices.

Palate

Baked nectarine and plum meld with ginger and toasted walnut in an oven-baked dessert, leaving cedarwood and orange liqueur lingering into the finish.

Wish it had a better finish

Just tried this one from a new bottle. Was excited after hearing of other casks, but sadly this one had all the hallmarks of an amazing sherry whisky in flavour and palate, however the finish was surprisingly weak. I’ll take the Revival or even 12 any day for the value.
