A great value and underrated Highland single malt, this is Glencadam 15 Years Old. It was wholly matured in American oak bourbon casks and then bottled at 46% ABV at natural colour and un-chill filtered. The fruity, creamy, and sweet dram has scored big at various award shows, including recording an outstanding score of 98 points out of 100 at the 2022 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
Fragrant, spicy aromas like gingerbread and cinnamon cut through bright citrus, orchard fruit, and a little beeswax.
Oak char, marmalade, pineapple slices, and white grapes lead with rum spice, coconut milk, and Corinth raisins in support.
Fresh fruit on the tail, with hints of toasted oak.

I find this SO unusual! Smell is faintly bathroom cleaner, and the taste is light, malty and then it's all wood and liquorice with the bourbon casks coming through on the finish. You know what, I really rather like this. Just a shame it's £65!
I’m a big fan of Glencadam and the 15yo is class. Just really good whisky
Had the 15 a few times now over the past couple of years and its always spot on . I love everything about this malt. Lemony sharp introduction then honey biscuits with cream , lovely oil streaks on the glass. Clean spirit from Glencadam.
Being a fan of anything with a hint of sherry, I rarely go outside my comfort zone. But I did so with the 10 year old and enjoyed it so much I then got Glencadam's sherry cask finish - again, very enjoyable. Which lead me to the 15 year old. Out of the 3, it's the one I've least enjoyed. Maybe just not a great bottle (bottled June 2020) but it's a little sharp on the palate and all the wonderful flavours from the 10 year old just feel a little subdued in my bottle.
Wow. What you can do without playing around too much with casks. This is an elegant, not dominant whisky. I wasn't too impressed at first as I am used to bolder flavors but after some time, this one really got me. Quality. This is an all-season whisky. Perhaps more for the experienced whisky drinker who is already familiar with different flavor profiles. This will not be the last bottle.
