Meikle Tòir The Turbo (2025 Edition)
Created at The GlenAllachie Distillery under the watchful eye of Billy Walker, The Turbo 2025 takes Meikle Tòir’s peated single malt to new heights. Using only the ‘heart of the heart’ cut, where phenols are at their peak, this edition is a full-throttle, smoke-driven dram. Mainland peat and an extended fermentation bring depth and intensity, while maturation in five American virgin oak casks and four oloroso hogsheads adds richness and complexity. Bottled at 50% ABV and weighing in at a mighty 72 PPM, this is a powerhouse Speysider with a smoky swagger that more than lives up to its name.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Ashen smoke leads with barbecued meats, charred oak, and earthy peat. Underneath, dried fruits, treacle, and sweet vanilla from the oak emerge.
Palate
A bold wave of smoke and spice, with cracked black pepper, espresso, and liquorice, balanced by honeyed malt, toffee, and leathery richness.
Finish
Long and robust, smouldering embers, dark chocolate, and oloroso warmth carry through.
