Meikle Tòir The Turbo (2024 Edition)
Guided by master distiller, Billy Walker, the ‘Meikle Tòir' (meaning ‘big pursuit’) range from GlenAllachie Distillery expands with The Turbo 2024 Edition. It's made by taking ‘the heart of the heart’ of the distillate – the spirit cut which contains the highest phenol content – to amplify its smoky qualities. Mainland peat (at 70ppm), a lengthy fermentation period, and maturation in five American virgin oak casks and four oloroso sherry hogsheads further contribute to the whisky's full-bodied character.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Smoked blood orange, cinnamon spice and manuka honey, with bursts of rich dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts.
Palate
Worn leather, baking spices and cigar box, followed by honey, hazelnuts and dried red berries.
Finish
Burnt orange peel and salted caramel.
